DroneDeploy manages data on the tens of millions of acres mapped by more than 5,000 customers across 200 countries, meaning that securing that data is a critical requirement. DroneDeploy achieved ISO 27001 certification, an internationally accepted security standard, in February 2019 to demonstrate compliance with security and privacy best practices.
At DroneDeploy, we are consistently maturing our security program and best practices that are auditable, repeatable, and built to a framework baseline that is easy for everyone to understand. To expand our best practices further, we committed to achieving SOC 2 attestation in 2020.
SOC (System and Organization Controls) is an American standard that belongs to AICPA (the American CPA association). US public companies and companies that target the US market rely on SOC to help ensure that the services they use meet security and availability requirements.
One of our core values at DroneDeploy is to Build Trust. For us, this milestone represents one of the many ways we build trust with our customers.
Ashutosh Agrawal, Director of Risk & Compliance, DroneDeploy
We are pleased to announce that the SOC 2 Type 1 Report for DroneDeploy is complete and available for customers and prospects. The SOC 2 report includes management’s description of DroneDeploy’s trust services and controls as well as independent auditor’s opinion of DroneDeploy’s system design.
We will continue to lead by example and build security and privacy practices that are transparent, repeatable, auditable, and rigorous. We anticipate announcing SOC 2 Type 2 before the end of the year.
